Android, iOS in India
By Ria Sharma

Flurry was set up to ‘increase the size and value of mobile application audiences’.  According to the Flurry website they have already helped more than 140,000 applications across iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone platforms. Flurry has built one of the world's leading mobile application analytics and data-powered advertising platform.

A Flurry report zooms into the installed base of iOS and Android smart devices (smartphones and tablets) as well as identify markets where the most future upside exists.  One of the many elements of this report is how many active iOS and Android devices run applications by country.

Using data collected from Flurry’s data-set of more than 140,000 apps running on smart devices worldwide, we get a snapshot of how many iOS and Android devices ran apps over the last 30 days.  Note that we gross up our figures to reflect differences in penetration per platform to provide market-level estimates.  Among the top 20 countries, the U.S. still makes up the largest chunk of the world’s active installed base, with 109 million out of 264 million, or 41%.

India is among the top 20 in this list.

Another point this report makes is that India is among the top 3 countries with potential to push and promote iOS and Android systems.
