Hacking Indian link
By Sumir Singh

American security and intelligence think tank Stratfor Global Intelligence Service was hacked over the Christmas weekend.  Despite being one of the leading security companies in the world, it had not bothered to encrypt the credit card details of its clients.

Stratfor provides different levels of services to its clients – some just want a security newsletter while others want detailed threat assessments and solutions. Its clients include US Military, Department of Homeland, AMD, BAE System, UBS, Microsoft, Coca Cola, Disney and hundreds of others.  Hacking activist group Anonymous claimed credit for this attack and has already put some of the hacked information in the public domain. Anonymous also used details of some of the credit card information they got hold of to make donations to charities like Red Cross and Save The Children.

Stratfor Global Intelligence has Indian clients as well.  Anonymous has posted data at document sharing site Pastebin which shows their Indian clients included the Indian Embassy, Admin Staff College of India and Indian Military Review.
