Flurry was set up to ‘increase the size and value of mobile application audiences’.  According to the Flurry website they track more than 140,000 applications across iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone platforms. Flurry has built one of the world's leading mobile application analytics and data-powered advertising platform.

Flurry has released a report on how more than 1 Billion Apps were downloaded between Dec 25 – Dec 31, 2011. Indians downloaded 10 million Apps in these 7 days

The last week of the year, from December 25 through December 31, sees more iOS and Android device activations compared to any other week of the year.   Starting with Christmas Day, the largest single device activation day of the year, the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day is filled with significantly elevated device activations and app downloads. 

Flurry estimates that over 20 million iOS and Android devices were activated, and 1.2 billion applications were downloaded.   The chart above shows the top twenty countries across which the record 1.2 billion downloads were distributed.  Starting from the left, the U.S. took the lion’s share with 509 million downloads, or 42.3%.
