Pseudonyms work well By Bala Shah
Founded in 2007, US based Disqus aims to ‘improve conversations online’. Today, the Disqus commenting platform is used by over half a billion people across some of the largest sites on the web. More than 600 million monthly users use Disqus on more than 1 million websites.
Disqus has published evidence that people who use pseudonyms (fictitious name by a Commentator to protect their privacy) are the most valuable contributors to online communities because they produce the highest quality and quantity of comments
This has been our experience at Techgoss as well. From the very beginning, our site offered its writers a choice to use a pseudonym. At least half of our regular contributors use pseudonyms because they work in the IT, BPO, KPO and Telecom sectors and using their real names would hinder their writing about what they see happening in our IT-BPO sector
