While in college and in my early career as a technology journalist, like many others, I saw Microsoft founder Bill Gates as a hard headed businessman who would do anything to earn another Billion dollars.  In those days, Microsoft and Bill Gates would do anything to crush any competition.  At college in Mumbai, many fellow students started using Linux and Firefox because they hated Microsoft so much. 

Over the last few years, Bill Gates became a changed man.  He walked away from controlling Microsoft and decided to donate 70 percent of his wealth to charity.  Gates has spent tens of millions of dollars in social work in India and now has millions of Indian fans.

American Blogger 'Frugal Dad', who has worked in Call Centres as well as software development, has created a slick infographic on how Bill Gates donated billions have helped the world.  (Part published above).

According to Frugal Dad, Bill Gates and his wife Melinda have already saved 5.8 million children and would save 7.6 Million by 2019.
