Dhoni Facebook winner

Regular readers of Techgoss are well aware that a large number of our articles are crowd sourced.  People send in tips, photos, story ideas and even articles. Many of our contributors have full times jobs in IT - ITES, and so prefer using a pseudonym.  A Tipster R* (he has asked us not to publish his full name) who works with social media wrote in

It seemed just like yesterday, when the entire India could not heap enough praise (and multi crore contracts) on our Cricket team when they won the World Cup after already becoming the No. 1 Test Team.

Today, the same cricketing heroes are being widely criticized by our news anchors.  To be fair, they criticize anyone because confrontation equals ratings equals advertising Rupees.

The Indian cricket team in Australia has been humiliated after 3 Test losses to the Aussies. First, they beat our students, now they thrash our cricketers.  Everyone from the Selectors, to the media to the people on the street are disappointed with Captain Dhoni and his shell shocked team.

But MS Dhoni still seems to have a smile during the press conferences in Australia.  Could it be because despite the losses on the cricket field and the criticism by the commentators, Dhoni is still soaring on Facebook?

Last week, MS Dhoni on Facebook had the top 20 world wide growing fan base.  This week, Dhoni is still among the top 40 fastest growing fan bases on Facebook around the world.  In fact,  he is the only Indian on this exclusive Facebook list.
