First ever Gadgetize a success By Bala and DJ
It is a great idea and its first meet up has been a huge success. Gadgetize is the first of its kind platform which brings together Gadget enthusiasts and Gadget companies together to exchange ideas and offer practical opportunities to everyone to get hands on experience with the latest gizmos. The first Gadgetize was held on Dec 18, 2010 at a Café Coffee shop in Bangalore.
Techgoss caught up with Vikas SN who edits TechKnots.com and is also the brains behind the innovate idea of Gadgetize.
How did the event go? Vikas SN is happy with the success of the first meet. “The event went really well. Around 40-45 people came to the event. And we had a very interesting Gadget Lineup right from the new Macbook Air to Infibeam's E-Book Reader, Infibeam Pi and Nokia's current flagship device Nokia N8. Everyone seemed excited that they could finally meet gadget lovers similar to them and exchange thoughts about various devices, mobile OS's etc.”
SN Vikas got the idea of Gadgetize from lack of such events in Bangalore. “Inspite of Bangalore being a Hub for various startup events and barcamps, Bangalore never really had a Gadget meetup as such. Also, I write about Gadgets for a living, so, many at times, my blog readers and my friends / relatives keep asking me whether they should buy Gadget X. Is it really worth the money? How is the experience? etc. So, I along with my friend Prashanth, who edits TechBangalore.com, thought why not create a platform where in people could come and have hands-on experiences on the latest devices from the brands and then decide whether to take the plunge or not. And not only that, many gadgets lovers would have imported lots of gadgets viz Mobile Phone, Tablets etc which are still not available in India. For Example, Apple's Tablet iPad is still not available in India; However one of the persons had imported it from US thanks to his relatives. Therefore, all the Gadgetize attendees could play around with it and decide whether they should buy it or not, instead of regretting the purchase after seeing only the pictures / videos of the product on the web.” (12/21/2010) |
