WNS: Angry AVP bullies Agent

NASSCOM ranks WNS as the No. 2 BPO company in India.  WNS was set up in 1996 and employs 21,000 people in 21 delivery centres in Americas, Europe and Asia looking after 200 global clients. Last year, WNS had net revenue of $386 Million. Techgoss had exclusively reported on how Keshav Murugesh had left Syntel to join WNS. Now a rogue AVP is on the radar for his rude behaviour.

Regular readers of Techgoss are well aware that a large number of our articles are crowd sourced.  People send in tips, story ideas and even articles. Many of our contributors have full time jobs in IT-ITES, and so prefer using a pseudonym.  A Tipster who works in the WNS HR Department wrote in to Techgoss

WNS HR is facing an unusual case which has been escalated to the very top.

An employee at the Maharashtra based MMC Process at WNS, who had a good track record at work, had put in his papers after serving the company well for three years. Recently, an AVP named MT*, who used to work at the MMC Process but is now at the Sony Process, came to the floor and called this exiting employee to his office.  According to the complaint filed with the HR Department after the meeting, the conversation went like this

AVP- kya be suna hai tune paper dale hai.... (I hear that you have resigned)
Agent - Yes sir...
AVP- Kaha jaa raha hai...  (Were are you going?)
Agent- Abhi kahi nahi mila sir... dekhunga... (Not sure about my next job.  Will see)
AVP- Tera baap kya Bill Gates hai kya jo bina dekhe paper daale hai....Kitane saal se kaam kar raha hai WNS me... (Is your father Bill Gates that you have resigned without a job in hand?  How long have you been with WNS?)
Agent – For the last 3 year Sir...
AVP- To phir kya har 3 saal baad aise hi maa baap bhi badalega kya??? (You are leaving WNS after 3 years.  Will you change your parents also after 3 years?)

The shaken Agent left the room and quickly drafted a letter of complaint against the AVP named MT and sent it to the Process VP and HR VP.  These senior managers have spoken to a number of senior officials in WNS about the rude behaviour of this AVP
