Rs 5000 for best Green Game

The Society for Rich Internet Application - Rich User Interface (RIA-RUI) is a not for profit organisation working for the promotion of idea sharing and generation in the fields of rich internet application and rich user interface. The group partners with local and international organisations to bring high quality technical events to India. Touch Tour Chennai is one such event.

Touch Tour Chennai will be held in the city on 15 October 2011.

According to Prabhakaran Vishwanathan, event director and president of RIA-RUI, the goal of Touch Tour is to create a platform of interaction for students, professionals, startups, corporates and communities so as to share and gain knowledge about various aspects of touch platform and network with like-minded people.  He says, “During the last few months there has been a dramatic growth in the Smartphone and Tablet sector. Smartphones are becoming really smarter and the mobile industry is going to be massive in the next couple of years. As the industry grows, more and more job opportunities for mobile application development are being created. But are our students and professionals ready to grab these opportunities? The event was born to address these issues. Touch Tour is a platform driven by the community and is for the community.”

As part of the event, the Society has collaborated with an NGO called Team Everest to announce a contest calling for small, creative and engaging mobile and web games. The broad theme of the contest is to show how ordinary people can help prevent global warming.  Team Everest will be using the selected games to reach out to rural kids.

The Touch Tour website has following details on how to participate in the Contest where the Winner will receive a minimum cash prize of Rs. 5000.

- Post (Submit) your idea in the Facebook page. Your idea has to be first approved by our team
- Once your idea is approved you can start building the game in any platform that can run in a mobile and web.
- You have to complete your game before 1st Oct 2011.
- Tops 5 games will be announced by 8th October 2011.
- Winner will be selected by our judges during the event on 15th October 2011.
