Axa stops Process move to Syntel
By Sandhya

Over the last 20 months, Techgoss had published a series of exclusive reports giving details of all that was happening inside the BPO, KPO and IT divisions of one of India’s most successful IT-ITES companies Syntel.  One report showed how that in the recent past Syntel BPO was overly reliant on couple of key clients. Also, reported were the exits of the CEO and key HR people.

Regular readers of Techgoss are well aware that a large number of our articles are crowd sourced.  People send in tips, story ideas and even articles. Many of our contributors have full times jobs in IT-ITES, and so prefer using a pseudonym. A Tipster, who prefers anonymity, sent in the following news.

In April, 2011, your website had correctly reported on how our organization AXA Financial Services, which has its own BPO / KPO in Pune, has started taken concrete actions to outsource to State Street / Syntel.  Earlier this year, my AXA colleagues had even visited the Syntel Pune Offices.

All seemed to be going well,  but now Syntel will not get the AXA Processes which were being considered for outsourcing earlier this year.

Syntel was ramping up as this AXA Process would need as many as 300 Full Time Employees. Syntel has even hired the highly regarded Sanjay Singh (formerly of Wellington) to settle this newly acquired AXA business.

But five months down the line, in Sept / Oct, 2011 it has been decided that the business would not be outsourced to Syntel.  Talk around the water cooler is that AXA itself is recruiting more staff and so the Process will stay with them – at least for the time being.  Not surprisingly, the current AXA employees are very relieved.

Thanks for the great Tip! Know about something more about this?  Send us a detailed Tip
