Infy Cloud claims?

Regular readers of Techgoss are well aware that a large number of our articles are crowd sourced.  People send in tips, photos, story ideas and even articles. Many of our contributors have full times jobs in IT - ITES, and so prefer using a pseudonym.  A Tipster wrote in

Infosys has just announced an ‘Infosys Cloud Ecosystem Hub’ which it describes as a ‘comprehensive solution which enables enterprises to create, adopt and govern Cloud services across the ecosystem. The Infosys Cloud Ecosystem Hub enables rapid adoption of Cloud services.’

Said Vishnu Bhat, Vice-President and Global Head - Cloud, Infosys: “Our clients are dealing with complexities of a fragmented Cloud environment. The Infosys Cloud Ecosystem Hub provides organizations a unified gateway to build, manage and govern their hybrid cloud ecosystem. This solution allows clients to fully realize the benefits from the long-standing promise of the Cloud.”

So far so good!  Then Infosys, in its Official Statement about this Cloud System Hub makes the claim that ‘Businesses can now accelerate time-to-market of Cloud services by up to 40 percent, improve productivity by up to 20 percent and achieve cost-savings of up to 30 percent.’

How can any tech company make claims for any product or service that it accelerates ‘time to market’ by 40 percent when it has not been around for even 6 months?  And Infosys has not provided any link to research which backs up its claims.

But because Infosys is one of the best run and financially transparent companies in India, the Indian media are happy to publish any of its statements without proper scrutiny.
