“ To its credit, the senior management at Teleperformance, especially the Adobe Process, always come up with new and innovative ideas to retain their highly skilled staff. In the past these innovative ideas to engage their valuable employees included Cafe Olympiad, organized in June 2011, where all the employees were given a chance to show their skills in Pool, Snooker and Table Tennis. Quite separately, there have also been different sessions with different levels of Managers. Theme Day, talking to new hire batches etc. Despite these initiatives, there have been some serious setbacks.
We all know that in February, Teleperformance had a huge setback when 30+ employees left the company. Not surprisingly, the Client Adobe became a bit nervous and politely raised a number of questions about such staff turnover in its process as the attrition rate later shot up to 32 percent.
On August 3, 2011, TP is bracing itself for substantial number of resignations as 10 days back, on July 15, employees have got their retention bonus of Rs 12000; and the competition which TP is facing right now in order to retain their employees is huge. Better salaries elsewhere are the biggest concern. TP is paying approx 2.30 Lakhs Per Annum whereas their main competitors are paying approx Rs. 4 Lakhs Per Annum to the same Agent. And competitors are hiring in huge numbers.
The big daddies of TP like Director Operations- Adobe and all the managers have swung into action and doing all they can to control the attrition.
Silver lining to the cloud? No one will be sacked as everything is being done to ensure numbers are good enough to keep the Process running well “
