BPO TP salary hikes disappoint

Established in 1978, its core business spans the full spectrum of CRM/BPO contact center solutions. Regular readers of Techgoss are well aware that a large number of our articles are crowd sourced.  People send in tips, story ideas and even articles. Many of our contributors have full times jobs in IT - ITES, and so prefer using a pseudonym. A Tipster, who has asked us not to publish his name, has sent us a detailed Tip about the slightly disappointing salary increases at Teleperformance

This August, the hard working employees of Teleperformance were expecting their salary increases - especially Team leaders and above.  After all, Teleperformance had a good track record as paymasters and it was 1 year since the last hike.

Actually, the salary increases based on these appraisals were due from June, 2011, but for reasons no one quite understands or accepts, it was delayed by 3 months.  The salary hikes finally arrived in August 2011- and guess what?  Good things DON’T always come to those who wait.

The salary increases were disappointing for most.  Water cooler talk is that some Team Leaders who scored more than 40 points out of 50 were given increases of little more than half of the Rs. 4000 they were expecting.

Mid-September,  the Managing Director, Mr. Mehta, sent out a email to all TP employees which blamed the global crisis-" As US Economy is undergoing a crisis these days, appraisal amount is not that good but they are planning to bring something very good for them.".  Many staff did not even bother to open the email because they preferred to see some action rather than talk.

Expect some Team Leaders to say Tata to Teleperformance soon
