Shalini Vig Wadhwa joins SSTL By Raj Mishra
After a four-year stint with India’s largest real estate and infrastructure development company DLF , Shalini Vig Wadhwa has moved to Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL), the latest entrant in the Indian mobile telephony space, as Director, Corporate Communications. SSTL has acquired licenses to provide mobile telephony services in all the 22 circles across the country.
Presently, SSTL offers mobile telephony services in the Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Kerala as well as the Kolkata circles. It is now spreading fast in other circles as well.
SSTL, a joint venture company of Sistema of Russia and Shyam Group of India, has an agreement with Mobile TeleSystems OJSC of Russia, to launch its pan-India operations under the MTS brand. With its brand MTS named as one of the BRANDZ Top 100 Most Powerful Brands, it has chosen Gurgaon as its Indian HQ. While heading a team of corporate communication officials with DLF in Gurgaon in the capacity of Chief General Manager during her tenure, she had emerged to be a popular communications professional amongst local media persons. She had build up a reputation of being very vocal, prompt and responsive in regard to her work.
Earlier to this, Shalini was in the hospitality sector. Sistema is the majority share holder in SSTL with a 73.71% equity stake, along with the Shyam Group, holding a 23.79% stake and the rest 2.5% being public. SSTL has also entered into strategic agreement with Aegis BPO for outsourcing customer service operations of its mobile service brand MTS in the eastern circle. Aegis BPO will facilitate SSTL in the delivery of quality customer care solutions to clients and establishing customer loyalty for the MTS brand.
