Pune Techie holds 3 World Records
By Suneetha

Sidhu Kshetri is a Taekwondo exponent and a holder of two Guinness World Records. The first for ‘The most martial art kicks in one minute using one leg only’ and the second one for ‘The most martial art kicks in 30 minutes using one leg only’. Sidhu looks like he is adding a habit of Guinness records, for he just scored a third one. The event happened on May 20, 2012 at Pune.

This time it’s for ‘The most martial art kicks in one hour using one leg only’ with a count of 7000+ kicks in one hour. This event was held at Interdisciplinary School of Scientific Computing (ISSC), University of Pune and witnessed by the Judges viz. Dr. Smita Bedekar (University of Pune) and Hrishikesh Tupe (Black Belt from World Taekwondo Federation) and RJ Ashwin  who managed the completed Record event.

The previous record was from Pakistan and was with Ahmad Hussian who had scored 3,561 kicks in one hour.  It is learnt that this record has catapulted Sidhu into the position of the “First Software engineer in the World to hold three Guinness book of World Records in Martial Arts”

Sidhu is currently under preparations to get qualified for Olympics 2016 which if he makes it will also make him the first person in the history to represent India in Martial Arts at the Olympics. He is looking for some suitable sponsors who would help him realize this dream.

Sidhu Kshetri is a Computer Science Post Graduate with a specialization in Scientific Computing from Interdisciplinary School of Scientific Computing (ISSC), University of Pune and working in AtoS as Software Engineer and currently doing research and development in mathematics and martial arts.  He has been practicing martial arts since the last 15 years and has won several accolades for the same.

He has dedicated each of his world records to India.
