Genpact Leadership Team’s Iraq Connection By Sameer Ahmed in Jaipur
Genpact is the most successful BPO in India. Genpact is credited with laying the foundation of the booming BPO sector in the sub-continent. It has more than 36000 employees operating in 12 countries. Techgoss has learnt that Genpact has hired a security chief who started his career with the British Army and went on to serve in a number of trouble spots.
In the wake of growing concern over global terrorism and other such threats that may prove to be a death nail for outsourcing, organizations like Genpact are taking every necessary step to beef up the security at their operating centers. And interestingly, the HR might now be looking at profiles with past experience in army intelligence and security if one takes into account the recent addition in the leadership team.
The leadership team at Genpact now has an Iraq connection. Last week, an organization-wide mailer at Genpact announced the appointment of Brian Connor as the Global Chief Security Officer of Genpact. Prior to joining Genpact Brian worked with Ross International to manage the establishment of camps to support oil and gas survey teams in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Based out of Gurgaon, Brian will develop and implement a strategic security policy for Genpact and lead security efforts across regions to safeguard company assets and physical safety of employees.
If one looks at the profile of Brian, it comes straight out of a Robin Cook novel. Brian has over 20 years of international experience in security and Business Continuity Planning. He began his career in security intelligence with the British Army providing security advice and developing risk management plans and has operated in the Far East, Middle East, Europe and Central America. Brian also worked at Capital One where he established IT Disaster and Recovery Team.
Brian is a certified protection professional from ASIS International (Virginia, USA) and is an elected member of The Security Institute (UK).
