GENPACT: Employee Misuses Credit Card And Disappears By Nitin Paul
Yet another case of a former BPO employee allegedly misusing the official credit card has come to light in the ITeS hub Gurgaon in India. The GENPACT management has alleged that a former processing associate went on to shop unauthorized on the company corporate credit card. The employee, who was dismissed from the job about five months back, purchased personal belongings worth 480,000 INR in UK. The accused, however, is not only at large; he has also started threatening the BPO management of dire consequences, the police have said.
In a complaint filed at the police station, GENPACT vice president Vibhu Narayan alleged that one CL Gupta did not return the corporate credit card that was issued to him for official purposes. The accused is a resident of New Delhi. It is alleged that Gupta misused the credit card which was issued to him for official purposes and not for his personal needs.
Of late, the station head officer (SHO) Rajiv Kumar said that GENPACT has reported that the accused has now started threatening the company management with dire consequences for taking police action against him.
Last year also, GENPACT had reported another incident of forgery when a placement agency had forged the letter heads of the company and had issued fake appointment letters to gullible youths promising high salaries. A case of forgery and cheating was registered against five persons including a woman on the complaint of the GENPACT VP Vibhu Narayan. (4/11/2007) |
