Dell India changes?
By Bala Shah

Dell is one of the biggest computer manufacturers in the world and has been particularly successful in India.  Dell India grew strongly with a revenue increase of 60 percent to US 700 million dollars last year.  This year will be even better.

HP and Dell battle it out for the No. 1 computer sales position in the world. HP has the upper hand in India.

Delhi even manufactures computers in India with its factory in Chennai, TN rolling of its first ‘Made in India’ personal computer in Dec, 2007.

Now Wall Street Journal is reporting that Dell will sell all its factories within the next two years.  Dell’s traditional model of ‘build to order’ is no longer as lucrative. Other heavy weights like Apple also get their manufacturing done by third parties.
