Aegis BPO: Profitable Call Centers By Pulkit Sharma
Every BPO strives for an open, honest relationship with its employees. But Aegis BPO has raised such transparency to a new level.
Recently, Aegis BPO told all their employees of their 11 Call Centers what the gross margin was for each call centre in September, 2007. Aegis, Ahmedabad had a gross profit margin of 54 percent, Noida 51 percent, Hyderabad 49 percent, Coimbatore 49 percent, Bangalore 43 percent, Kolkata 37 percent, Pune 20 percent and Mumbai 16 percent.
The overseas operations of Bangalore International had a gross profit margin of 58 percent, Aegis Collect has 54 percent and Hyderabad International a healthy 50 percent.
And the winners are ..? Sorry the politically correct term is the awards go to Aegis Domestic, Ahmedabad and Aegis International, Bangalore for being the ‘Best Center with the highest profitability’
And the losers are … Sorry, don’t know the politically correct term to describe the one at the bottom of the ladder. But Mumbai only made a gross profit margin of 16 percent.
Obviously, profits depend on many facts and we have to factor in the relatively higher costs of infrastructure and people in bigger cities like Mumbai and Delhi.
(Aegis BPO has 10 thousand employees and is one of the fastest growing organizations in India)
