Syntel Pharma boss leaves By Sandhya
Over the last 12 months, Techgoss had published a series of exclusive reports giving details of all that was happening inside the BPO, KPO and IT divisions of one of India’s most successful IT-ITES companies Syntel. One report showed how that in the recent past Syntel BPO was overly reliant on couple of key clients. Also, reported were the exits of the CEO and key HR people.
Regular readers of Techgoss are well aware that a large number of our articles are crowd sourced. People send in tips, story ideas and even articles. Many of our contributors have full times jobs in IT-ITES, and so prefer using a pseudonym.
We love our Tipsters! Many of them keep Techgoss honest by prefacing their Tips with cheeky comments like “I would rather that Techgoss publish this verbatim rather than sugar coat it” because “what the hell you are just publishing Tips sent by people”.
In the Christmas spirit of giving and sharing, Techgoss will publish this Tip as it was sent to us because our highly regarded Tipster does not want us to “sugar coat it”.
“ In what is considered to be a major setback to Mr Healthcare Technology Head- about whom there were various references in this website for various reasons ranging from common ones like corporate politics and bad people management, Dr. GS, a veteran Pharma industry professional who has decades of experience working with the pharma industry initially and then with Cognizant and HCL, has quit Syntel. Apparently, he was brought in with much fanfare and publicity across the organization to head the Pharma business, with Mr healthcare tech head claiming all credit for bringing him in. But things rarely change and hence this case was no different, his services were not utilized properly nor was he recognized for his efforts in bringing home a client.
The good doctor was routinely shouted down in meetings by Mr Head and most recently by Mr Head's Deputy who is very similar in working style to him. Dr G had no option but to seek opportunities elsewhere. Now the best part is that the duo who harassed him tried to molly coddle him and stop him. And when this did not work - have now cut him out of all action ensuring a very unprofessional treatment during his notice period. He is poised to take many people from the pharma group along with him. “
