Terrorists logon to shaadi sites
By Techgirl

Respected matrimonial websites Shaadi.com and Bharatmatrimony.com provide an invaluable service and have engineered many successful matrimonial alliances.  My closest friend met her soul and shaadi mate through shaadi.com. One honeymoon, one kid and 3 anniversaries later, she recommends such websites to all her single girlfriends. Now terrorists prowl some such sites.

While most of the guys on such sites are genuine, some have different degrees of deceit.  Few will post a photo which is 5 years old, others will not have a phone number and some are even married who are looking for a girlfriend on the side.  One Call Centre Agent even claimed to be a Finance Manager at Satyam before swindling the money and heart for a damsel.  (In this case, the girl shares some of the blame as ‘Finance Manager from Satyam’ should have raised the same kinds of red flags reserved for bad boys and playboys). Some women are guilty of the same deceit.

If that was not enough, now PTI is reporting:

In a startling revelation, one of the alleged members of terror outfit Indian Mujahideen (IM), has confessed to have used information and photographs posted on matrimonial websites to get themselves fake student ID cards, which could be used to procure fake driving licences.

Anik Sayyed (27), a computer professional in his confessional statement recorded by a magistrate in October 2008, has said that he downloaded photos from websites like Shaadi.com and Bharti.com and used them on forged documents.

"I used to type matrimony in Google and open sites like Shaadi.com and Bharti.com and used to download photos of men registered on those sites. I used to then edit those photographs in CorelDraw and Adobe Photoshop and paste them on other documents," Anik has said.

If it wasn’t hard enough separating the wheat and chaff, men and boys in these sites,  now we have to work out if we are talking to a terrorist.

Girls,  keep away from any profiles on matrimonial sites which have details like
