There is dissent among the highly skilled Agents working at Dell Centre at Pasay in Philippines. The plan of Dell to sell their Philippine call center to outsourcer Teletech BPO has hit a snag recently, according to company insiders. Reportedly, Dell’s selling price for their facility located in Pasay city was an astounding 4 million US dollars in cash. This sale includes the premises, the equipment on site and the organization. Teletech would have virtually taken over the whole operations from Dell if the sale pushed through. Unfortunately, the Teletech top honchos felt the price was a little too steep, and may not have enough “liquidity” to finance this huge undertaking. I went out of my way to visit the newest Indian BPO to hit the block in the Philippines this month. EXL Service BPO, headquartered in New York, USA is headed by their CEO Vikram Talwar, one of the most prominent and successful Indians in the Call Centre industry. Following the recent trend of Indian BPO’s setting up shop in the Philippines, EXL have also planted their feet in Philippines and made it their second home for their delivery centers. Their new building at One E-com Center is their 9th Delivery site and their first outside India. Other delivery centers are in Pune, Gurgaon and several in Noida. Gripes just keep piling up against Dell call center managers in the Philippines, a lot of whom have been accused of being unprofessional in the work place. My source in the HR Department at FirstSource BPO’s Verizon Business account informed me that recent employees were on cloud nine by the tempting job offers presented to them. But due to the ramp up of network engineers by Verizon Business, many applied. More... | | Philippines Dell demotes dozens By Juan Dela Cruz
